Well here is my first post ever! Might as well make it a memorable one. I decided to enter the Runway Inspired Challenge. I have always been found of reading their blog, and I am so glad I am participating this time around. Here is the inspiration dress:
Here is the card I created:
I really enjoyed creating this card! To me the dress had a pattern going from small to large so I designed my card with that in mind. I am in love with the wispy tones of the dress. I am guessing it is made of a satin or silk, and when the light hits it you see different tones. To incorporate that into my design, I started with a blue card base and used distress ink to deepen areas. I didn't have a good light gray/almost white card stock in my stash (yeah I could have used the mountain of ink I have, but that's not innovative!), so I used heavy vellum to die cut it multiple times and then stacked them for dimension. Then I added glossy accents to the top. I also wanted more of the descending look to my card. So I splashed some water on that distress ink, and added sequins from small to large. I also added a little glossy accents just to tie it all together.
Supplies:
Random Iridescent Sequins (Jo-ann Fabrics)

Ohhhh, I love all of the effects that you created with the distress inks, stacked sentiment and sequins! So much fun dimension and interest! Thanks so much for playing with us at the Runway Inspired Challenge - we're so glad you did!
